OMO reflection: on May 23rd 2026, 8am, we held hands becoming one circle, many nations with babies to elders. I recall seeing their faces wearing their emotions. The excitement was swirling among us as we brought our lived experiences from a world full of trauma-uncertainy and.. Yet what is certain is how our water tells us who we are. She knows only truth. All she asks of us is to give her our attention love n respect, because we also live in a world of compassion honesty n reciprocity. And so she awaits patiently to teach us these things about humility n kinship in ways we wouldn't otherwise see or feel. In our water circle some embrace her apprehensively with fear. I understand that which is why we held ceremony with our protective cedar medicine. It calms. Once we launch n paddle from East shore we pass thru this "no turning back" shift (life's gentle reminder)on each of our journeys n sometimes we wonder to ourselves what did I get myself into (I've been there). We only move forward, symbolic of the flow of our water.
As we return to west shore with medicine tea, feast n give away, I welcome them back to shore. We talk story, we laugh, we may even share tears. Overall, we share this healing journey, the vision of our ancestors many moons ago.
And the rest becomes their own story to tell.
