S&LC STORY TIME
We had a very unexpected and wonderful opportunity present itself to us a week or so back.
We were contacted by the kind producers of a local NBC lifestyle show called Texas Today. They invited the studio to join them in a segment series celebrating some fall inspired fun options and wanted to feature local small businesses. We of course said "yes!" because when a sweet opportunity comes knocking, you answer!
We decided we would feature a lovely upcoming class and I (Marissa) would make a pumpkin succulent arrangement alongside the show hostess Jessica. If you know me, or have been to any of our classes, I am very much a face to face person. So, the concept of being behind a camera and lights felt very much out of my element and slightly overwhelming. Yet, I reminded myself that this segment ultimately isn't about me or what I do, but about the studio and how it builds bridges within the community through creative arts. Jessica and the team were so personable and encouraging and we just had a lovely relaxed and authentic conversation as we crafted together.
I wish I could have talked longer about our amazing instructor partners, for my awesome behind the scenes business partner, for our countless repeat customers who are very much like old friends, and our new customers who tell us wholeheartedly how thankful they are to have found us. We are thankful for each of you!
When we set out to open our studio, we knew this concept was unique, but also meant something bigger than we imagined.
I truly believe God set in my heart a love for cooking, hospitality, feeding people and gathering in community long before we ever considered opening this studio. He has been the one who has opened every door of opportunity, paved the way through city permits, brought us every customer, provided every instructor (who have all been so amazing!) and continues to help us shine brightly for Him in a world that often seems dark, hopeless and lonely. I pray that in every season of this studios life , it will be a reflection of Matthew 5 - to be Salt of the earth and Light to the world.
I give God all the glory for every business milestone, community award we receive, for every 5 star review we are blessed with, with every person who walks through our studio doors and feels a little lighter upon entering and more at peace upon leaving and for all the future blessings and unknowns that are waiting around the corner.
This NBC segment was an unexpected gift and had me contemplating just how far God has brought us and how it all belongs to Him. To God be the Glory, great things he has done and is doing ~
