Nebraska Crane is seeking a knowledgeable diesel mechanic who can perform diagnostic testing, repair and preventative maintenance on medium/heavy duty trucks or equipment. Diesel mechanics need to be highly organized and communicate effectively.
Service Department Operations
• Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identify worn and damaged parts.
• Keeps equipment available for us by completing preventive maintenance; installing components and parts; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
• Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting. Overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, components, parts within systems such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air condition, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
• Interprets diagnostic test results accurately.
• Write detailed inspection reports and repair plans.
• Collaborate with other diesel technicians.
• Performs test drive to gauge performance.
• Adhere to inspection procedure checklist.
• Use power, machine and hand tools safely.
• Follows all repair shop regulations and standards.
• Ensure a safe and clean work environment.
Qualifications and Job Requirements
• Knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms.
• Superior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment
• Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software.
• Treat all employees and customers fairly, courteously, and with dignity.
• Effective communication skills.
• Demonstrate time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid CDL Class A
• High School diploma or GED certificate
• Diesel Technician or mechanic degree preferred but will training the right applicant.
• 1-2 years’ experience with diesel and gas engine truck repair.
• Must have own tools.

Nebraska Crane is seeking an experienced and reliable Crane Operator to join our growing team at our Waverly location.
The crane operator is responsible for operating mobile cranes to lift, move, position and reposition loads safely and efficiently. This role requires ensuring that all loads are properly secured before lifting or lowering while maintaining safety. The operator must have a solid understanding and working knowledge of the software and controls required for crane operation.
Applicants must have knowledge to be able to determine the load weights and check them against the lifting capacities of the crane as well as the lifting, position and placement of the object at the job sites. Knowledge of how to inspect the crane for safety issues daily and determine if any parts are malfunctioning. Ability to inspect cables or grappling devices for wear, cleaning, lubricating and maintaining mechanisms, making repairs when needed. Job does require bending, climbing, kneeling, reaching, carrying, lifting, pulling and pushing objects.
Job requirements include Class A CDL with a clean driving record and an NCCCO certification to operate the crane skillfully and safely in conformance with OSHA regulations. Time behind the levers with at least 1 years’ experience and knowledge of rigging set up and signals is required.
