Today, we took all three high school concert bands to the MSHSAA Music Festival. This is a state-level festival, where bands prepare and perform literature for a panel of judges to provide ratings and feedback. While this is normal for our Concert and Symphonic Bands, it was our first time taking Campus Band in many years. We are proud to say that all three groups received Exemplary ratings, the highest given. Our students learned, grew, and worked hard - and that hard work was recognized after fabulous performances throughout the day.

Today, 62 Trojan Band students traveled to Central High School in St. Joseph, MO, to participate in the MSHSAA District Music Festival. This year, Park Hill bands once again brought 55 total solos and ensembles, the maximum allowed of any one program. Of those 55, 34 events achieved an Exemplary rating, qualifying them to perform again for the State Music Festival in Columbia on May 1. We are very proud of the hard work and dedication all of these students put in to prepare for today; they have all shown tremendous growth. Please congratulate these PHHS and LEAD band students on their fantastic performances!

The Park Hill HS Jazz Ensemble had a wonderful trip to Pittsburg State University today to participate in their annual Jazz Festival. The band received great feedback from the judges, and several students were recognized with Outstanding Musicianship awards. This marked the third performance in the last two weeks following trips to UCM and PHS. Our next performance will be back home in Kansas City for the 18th and Vine Festival on April 15, and then wrapping up the year at PHHS on April 21.
