A favorite wild edible, morels only appear in the spring. Part of the fun in hunting them is because they're so hard to see. Once you learn to identify them properly, you can enjoy the hunt as well.

New Birders, Old Birders, Tall Birders, Short Birders, All Birders! Join us for our Annual Christmas Bird Count on Saturday December 20th, 2014. Meet in the lobby at 7am, hot coffee, cocoa, tea available. Bring your binoculars or spotting scopes. We'll be out for several hours, come for as long as you are able. Dress for the weather. Calling all youth leaders/volunteers! Heartland Center is inviting you to participate in the Challenge Adventures Zip into Fall program. This after hours networking experience includes apple cider, s’mores and a chance to connect churches and scout leaders from all over Missouri and Kansas. Enjoy snacks while flying down our glow in the dark zip line and swinging through the air on our Multi-Vine. This fun extravaganza is meant to serve as a trial run for a potential event, targeted for youth 10 and up. We are offering you, your volunteers, or up to 3 youth the chance to fellowship and have a great time doing it right here at Heartland.
