Heroes from the Kansas City Police Department have been recognized for saving lives in Kansas City. Thanks to them and to all the law enforcement officers who daily respond courageously to help citizens in need.

More than 50 Kansas City Police Department members and several residents will be honored for acts of heroism, saving lives and ingenuity at a large award ceremony Tuesday night.

Many KC residents from the Northland came out to express their opposition to Mayor Quinton Lucas’s defunding of the KCPD. The townhall hosted by Northland Council Members was full, with many people standing outside. Especially at a time when crime is ticking up, we need and appreciate our police officers! Thanks to Councilmembers Dan Fowler, KC Council, Teresa Loar, Kevin O'Neill, and Heather Hall KC, for opposing the defunding plan, and to State Reps Josh Hurlbert, Chris Brown, Sean Pouche, and Doug Richey, for seeking a special legislative session on the issue. Glad to see these public servants standing up for public safety and our brave men and women in blue!
