Hey everyone. We have some unfortunate news to share with you all. The Emerald will be closing its doors come July. It was always our plan to stay open as long as possible and we were hoping for a longer streak, but our building was purchased recently, and to put it simply, our new landlord’s vision for the buildings future does not include The Emerald. Our current lease ends in July, so we DO still have a couple months left to do what we do best. We’re really excited about the string of shows we have left, including our 1 year anniversary show on April 27th, so now is the time If you haven’t attended a show yet.
The GOOD thing is that we created this thing that we’re extremely proud of, and it’s also something we’re not done with either. That is all to say that we have already begun our search to relocate The Emerald. It will obviously be hard to find a place nearly as cool as the current building we’re in, but we remain ambitious, hopeful, and delusional enough to believe we can make it happen. Really hoping for the opportunity to make a “exciting news everyone!” post, but for now we just hope to see you all at a show and hangout in this iconic room with a rich history that we feel extremely fortunate to be part of.
