There's a shortage of service technicians in the ag industry. The Western Farm Show's National Ag Challenge is an AgMech competition to help students build their way into the career by being introduced to the tests, components, and equipment during a friendly competition against other local students from Kansas and Missouri. The event has been held for the last 4 years, with over 400 students getting the opportunity to win prizes and $1000 for their school's agriculture needs.

The National Ag Challenge will be held February 19th during the show, again giving 100+ students the same opportunities to compete, network with colleges, network with OEM's and their career training opportunities and enjoy the farm show. If you're interested in more, click on the link below!

The Western Farm Show hosted its annual Battle of the Border + FFA Day during their 64th Annual Western Farm Show on Friday, February 20th. More than 4600 FFA kids attended the event to network with colleges, agricultural equipment dealers, agribusinesses, participate in educational seminars and compete in the Battle of the Border Competition. All Canned goods collected were donated to Harvesters to support local families in need.

This year's competition brought in 5,791 canned goods, with Kansas contributing slightly more than Missouri, totaling 3,254 items.

FFA Day was sponsored by Vermeer Agriculture, which will donate $1000 to one participating Kansas Chapter and one participating Missouri Chapter. Winners will be announced soon!
