On this Thanksgiving Day I am thankful for many things. But the thing that I am most thankful for is the friendship of all my family and friends.

I hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving❣️

It has been a great year for Driftwood, Fossil, Mineral, and Rock hunting and it is not over yet. So far in 2025 I have collected in Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. I have also shown and sold at five different fossil shows. After January 1st I will post the total number of my finds. At this time, it is over 2,000 specimens.

I love the hunt, the research, and the sharing!

Happy hunting my friends

This is another of my favorite fossil finds.

The Florida Giant Land Tortoise is said to have been larger than the Galapagos Land Tortoise. Estimates range between 600 and possibly as much as 900 pounds.

It inhabited every continent except Australia and Antarctica. They had the ability to float with their heads above water allowing them to float to different islands and counties. Long journies such as this were not a problem because they could go without food for as much as six months.

The Florida Giant Land Tortoise is now extinct. My pictures are of my best condition Florida Giant Land Tortoise fighting spur fossil. It is also the most complete and best condition specimen that I have ever seen. These spurs were used as a defense against predators.

Happy hunting my friends

This is one of my favorite fossil finds. A Giant Ground Sloth claw and first phalange. Both were found in the same shovel full of gravel. Plus they fit together perfectly so, are likely from the same animal.

I found it on the western edge of the Peace River Formation in Manatee County Florida. It was a great hunt!

Stay well and stay safe my friends

A funny story pertaining to one of the Grizzly Bear costumes which I sculpted and made. PS, Magic and fossils are not my only passions. I also love sculpting and creating masks, mascots, and special effects.
