RAD Fest - Midwest Regional Alternative Dance Festival RAD Fest is an annual, multi-day showcase of cutting-edge contemporary movement-based performances All of the festival activities are open to the public.

The Midwest Regional Alternative Dance Festival (RAD Fest) is an exhilarating weekend of performances, workshops and activities celebrating some of the country's leading and innovative voices in modern dance, hosted in Kalamazoo by Wellspring. The 2022 RAD Fest dates are March 4th-6th.

We are seeking dance artists to submit work for the DANCE FILM SERIES and DURATIONAL INSTALLATION categories of RADFest 2027! Artists will experience a juried event hosted and supported by Wellspring, in downtown Kalamazoo, MI, taking place March 5-7, 2027

Zaquia Luisa Salinas (MFA) is a dance artist working at the intersection of performance, community practice, and social inquiry. She is a passionate leader in several arts communities, and we are so excited to welcome her to our community here and đź’śđź’š

“I am stoked to be joining the Wellspring team as RADFest Resident Curator going into the festival's 18th season. It is a great pleasure to be trusted to steward such a long-standing project that centers emerging, professional, and experimental artists in a community that is new to me. We’re shouting out the dance and art-making moving Kalamazoo and beyond — the people, the projects, the creative sparks.

This Sunday at 1:00 & 3:00 p.m., Wellspring Academy presents Inspired Movements.

Each class draws inspiration from the professional company as they celebrate 45 years of sparking wonder in the Kalamazoo community.
