OFFICAL NOTICE OF CANCELLATION.
We are in a no-win situation, starting April 22, 2024, the Fire Marshal requirements started to be issued. The Director of Oshtemo parks insisted that we provide a map with a 24’ fire lanes, also 24' between merchant rows, according to the Fire Marshal no later than May 1, 2024. Which we complied with, showed them that we would be able to provide them with two 25’ fire lanes into the event and a 25' fire lane between the bushes and the first row of parking spaces for their trucks to get through. At this point we believe we complied with what the Fire Marshal wanted. On May 8, 2024 we received another email from the Oshtemo Park Director that now ALL tents sizes must be certified as flame resistant. Also all tents must carry a 3a10BC fire extinguisher in the tents. These last 2 rules have made it impossible to not only grow the event but to stay at Flesher Field. Since any privately built structures won't have a fire certificate and won't be allowed by the Fire Marshal. Example (ticket booth). Also any tents that require fire retardant won't be allowed. Since the Fire Marshal state's that "Applying flame retardant is not an option". I will be contacting all merchants and entertainers either by mail, email or messenger about this matter.
