Dulcimer Week in the Wallowas

Dulcimer Week in the Wallowas Northeast Oregon’s annual summer adult music camp specializing in the mountain (lap-style) dulcimer

Heidi Muller and Bob Webb teach classes and organize events in Wallowa County, Oregon and across the Northwest to promote the joy of playing the Appalachian mountain (lap) dulcimer. Our next Dulcimer Week in the Wallowas will be held June 29-July 5, 2015 and is sponsored by the Wallowa Valley Music Alliance.

As we come to the end of 2025, we’re grateful for all the wonderful people who come to our camp and make music together. We wish you all a healthy, safe, and vibrant year ahead. But before the calendar turns, we’d like to remember two bright-shining, tenacious friends who left us this year: Allison Erickson from Yakima, in August, and Sharon Porter of La Grande, on Christmas Day. They attended Dulcimer Week from about 2014 to 2021 and often played with the Three Rivers Dulcimer Society. Both fought breast cancer for many years through all regimens of treatment while living life as fully as they could. Allison was an elementary schoolteacher, played the harp, guitar, uke, and dulcimer, loved the WA coast and her dogs, and made dozens of colorful shawls. Sharon was a music educator and jazz singer, played uke, dulcimer, bass, banjo, mandolin, and tenor guitar, loved to sew and ride a recumbent bike, and played music with many different bands. They both had radiant smiles and inspired everyone around them. Let’s raise a glass to their memory and carry them with us in our hearts.

Hope you can join us next year!
