These kiddos raised $200 for the Scituate Animal Shelter. We dropped off the check today and got to visit with some of the animals there. We are hoping to make this a little bigger next year and want to thank everyone for their donations.

Hundreds came out to Memorial Park last weekend to enjoy artisans, food vendors and entertainment at the 38th Annual Apple Festival.

The event drew more than 100 vendors with a little something for everyone, including jewelry, seasonal crafts, gourmet foods, home décor, pottery and treats from Appleland Orchard in Smithfield and pony rides with a petting zoo from Rusty Buckle Farm in Glocester.

“This is the perfect day for this,” said Sarah Fortrand. “We come here every year because there’s a lot to see but it’s not overwhelming like other festivals and it’s really well organized.”
