Carter County Omnium

Carter County Omnium Regional Bicycle race sanctioned by USA Cycling every year in the Appalachian Mountains They end at Carvers Gap altitude 5512ft(1680m).

The Tri Cities Tennessee, Carter County Omnium, is a three race weekend in the scenic Appalachian Mountains. The Roan Groan road races all finish with a category 1 climb through the Cherokee National Forest. Total distance and climbing varies by category. The Pro/1/2 field total distance and climbing are equal to the Tour de France mountain top finish on the Pyrenees' Col d'Aspin. The 3.1m (5km)

time trial also climbs 223ft (68m) and separates the competition for Omnium over all prizes. The final criterium is a four corner flat course. The Carter County Omnium offers an exciting and challenging experience for beginners up to seasoned pros.

The traditional date for the Carter County Omnium the first weekend in June is scheduled to August 15/16 this year. It will make a more available date with the collegiate racers back in their school and no major races on that date.

The new dates are a replacement of the previous first weekend in June of the Carter County Roan Groan, Temple Hill Time Trial and the Eastman Credit Union Criterium.
