La Festa Italiana - Jersey City began in 1902 as a street festival in honor of Our Lady of the Assumption (August 15) & St. Rocco (August 16), both days of which were venerated by thousands of parishioners at Holy Rosary Church, the first Italian Parish in the State of New Jersey. Today, the festival continues to draw thousands of people from all across the county as they make their annual trip ba

Uncle Floyd was a New Jersey treasure. He loved New Jersey, proud of his Paterson roots, and gripped us all in a fun-loving, brilliant comic vortex.

He was one of the first comics to host his own TV show, which ran on Channel 68 here in New Jersey, and his show went on WPIX channel 11. Other than laughing, you never knew what to expect from an Uncle Floyd show.

Uncle Floyd appeared at La Festa In 2014. His rip roaring stories of his Italian city childhood resonated with our downtown Jersey City natives. Paterson and Jersey City were quite similar

May he rest in peace. Thanks for the laughs.
