COME FROM AWAY was such a unique experience. I met an amazing set of human beings and was privileged to work on one of the most astonishing artistic events of my career. I will be forever grateful to the Playhouse for gifting me this opportunity.

There are lots of stories in the show. Here's one more:

The real "Kevin T" in the show has a charity in real life called "Pay it Forward 9/11".

He happens to be an acquaintance of local actor, Scott Logsdon - who contacted him and he sent us a "break a leg" video on opening day. This is what he just posted on his Instagram account:

Hi Friends of the Mountain Playhouse...
I am running into a major block in auditions for COME FROM AWAY.
Seems everybody and their mother-in-law is going on vacation during July or early August. As a result, we don't have enough people auditioning.
I assumed we would have a better turnout, given the nature of this remarkable musical, so I originally called for the audition request cutoff by Monday (6/8) at 5pm. Even though I changed that to Wednesday (6/10), audition reservations have slowed - which tells me most people didn't see the adjustment.
I'm afraid I need more brains on this. I don't know that many local performers.
I can also make arrangements to see folks AFTER this weekend, if needed.
I've attached a rehearsal schedule which outlines all POSSIBLE rehearsal blocks, but of course, we won't use them all. Times may change and not everyone will need to be at every rehearsal.
If you are (or know of someone) interested in joining this remarkable musical celebration of generosity and love at a time of great disaster, please register on our website OR if you can't make that, you can certainly email me at [email protected] to set up a better time.
For more info on the show, characters and synopsis, head to our website. There are also lots of video references on YouTube.
We always wanted to do this show with our outstanding local folks - so stay home this summer, save gas money and join us! It's going to be a thrilling experience!
As always, we thank you for your support.
Thanks,
Scott Baron
