A fun, vibrant, community event to foster support and benefit rescues in Marion County, Texas ✌🏼💜🐾

This multi-faceted event is a FOJA fundraiser designed to enhance community awareness and togetherness in its efforts to help control the stray cat/dog population. Kicking it off will be Buddy's Run to the Rescue which will encompass a 5K Fun Run, one mile dog walk, and Kids' Fun Run that begins and ends at the courthouse and weaves through the streets of historic Jefferson. A stage set up in the First National Bank parking lot will feature live music in a setting of pet-themed vendors and our local businesses and restaurants. We will also have areas designated for raffles, dog-themed contests, a petting zoo, a kid's "fun" zone, and food trucks. FOJA (and hopefully, the APL) will have booths focusing on the basics of rescue needs (food, fostering, funds), pet safety (this year's safety topic will pay homage to our event Grand Marshal, Buddy, by tackling "fireworks and pets"), available services, and positively impacting our community with a vibrant and fun event that promotes "Peace, Love, and Paws."

Woofstock is only ONE month away! 🤩😍

Woofstock - a music festival for dogs - is coming back to Jefferson for our 4th year! Join us Saturday, November 14th at 10 am for a day of peace, love, and paws, featuring phenomenal live music, adoptable dogs and cats, a dog contest and pup crawl, fun vendors, an amazing silent auction, and more! All for animals in need in Marion County 🙏🏼

Our animal situation in Marion County is less than ideal. The shelter closed in 2018 due to multiple reasons, but mainly lack of resources. Now the burden falls on local rescues, mostly Friends of Jefferson Animals. We have no animal control, no resources, and surrounding shelters are not able to intake from Marion county. FOJA receives small but appreciated amounts from the city and county, but they are nowhere near enough to cover the cost of day to day operations.

Local rescues rely heavily on donations from our community and an active foster network. The pet over population issue is a huge one and they work every day to save as many lives as we can. Share, donate, volunteer, foster, adopt - we appreciate your support! ✌🏼💜🐾

Meet Miss Molly!

This gorgeous girl checks all the boxes—spayed, heart worm negative, utd on all vaccines, and a sweet temperament. Well, just missing one box—she likes chicken too much to be around them! She plays too hard with them and is allergic. Otherwise she is a precious and wonderful pup! She was plucked her off of the highway at the state line when she was about 6 months old and has been with a wonderful foster family since then. She’s currently in obedience training and learning all her manners. Molly would love to be your new bestie!

Handsome Hank is ready to meet you at Woofstock 2026 in Jefferson, TX! This lovable goofball has been in boarding for 2 years and would love to finally have a family of his own 🥹

He came to Woofstock last year with two of his besties, Valentine and Bailey, and both of them found their forever families. Now it’s Hank’s turn at a lifetime of happiness! He is a very good boy, great with other dogs, does well crated, and loves to jump suuuuper high for treats 😛

Come meet Hank and give him a chance. He’s available for adoption with Friends of Jefferson Animals 🥰

You are welcome to bring your dogs available for adoption! They must be spayed or neutered, leashed, and well-behaved. We like to keep track of adoptable dogs at the event, so please let us know in advance!

We received some valuable feedback last year and have some awesome changes coming for this year!

🐾 The whole event will be in one area! The stage with live music will be in the beautiful courtyard of Made in the Shade and the silent auction and vendors will be in the corner lot just across from Made in the Shade. This will help patrons to be able to enjoy everything and not miss out on our phenomenal auction or live music 🎶

🐾 The silent auction will end at 3 pm to give everyone time to pick up their items before heading home. Bids will continue to be made the old fashioned way on paper. We’ve tried some virtual setups and the cell signal just isn’t strong enough to offer consistent options. Please come visit in person and check it out! 🥰

🐾 We will have food trucks and food vendors. While we absolutely encourage supporting local restaurants, many (especially the dog friendly ones) were overwhelmed by the turnout. This way we can offer multiple options with shorter wait times for those with pups in tow 🤗

🐾 Only Henderson St. will be closed, allowing for better parking and easier access to surrounding businesses. We’ll also have more water stations available for our furry friends 🐶

Did you know the foam is safe for our four legged friends too? In fact, Longview PAWS and Woofstock Event have us out every year for the pups! We’ve had some interesting animals in foam including a ferret and a coatimundi!
Our foam is dye free, hypoallergenic, and safe!
