Janesville Town Square Gran Prix (JTSGP) organizers are pleased to announce that Janesville will host the inaugural race of the Tour of America’s Dairyland (ToAD) pro-am cycling series this year – kicking off full venue racing on June 16, 2022. The bicycle race is part of the Tour of America’s Dairyland (ToAD) presented by Kwik Trip. It is the largest competitive multi-day bike racing series in th
e United States. World-class cyclists from more than 40 states and 15 countries will compete daily during ToAD’s 11-day run. Racers will enjoy a course that not only showcases Janesville’s scenic location and interesting architecture, but it also offers views of our newly completed Town Square with its fun interactive water feature sculpture “The Bubbler,” and the lovely Blain Gilbertson Family Heritage Bridge featuring the Resilience sculpture. The Town Square areas offer various options for seating that provide scenic views of the river, downtown and the Gran Prix racecourse. Racers will also be able to catch glimpses of our five newest pieces of outdoor public art. Since 2020, several large-scale painted works of art were added to the sides of downtown businesses that are part of or near the Gran Prix racecourse. The beautiful murals include the Diversity & Women's History Mural, Two Horses Mural, Origami Birds Mural, Dog Bone Mural and Waves of Giving Mural. As a side trip consider exploring Janesville’s the sixty pieces of outdoor public art. Janesville Town Square Gran Prix, presented by Blain’s Farm and Fleet, will feature up to 10 hours of high-energy cycling each day, including men, women’s and juniors professional races. In addition to the race, there will be entertainment, family-friendly activities including the Kid Zone, and other events in downtown Janesville.
