The countdown to the 59th World Championship Chili Cook-off® has begun, and we're headed west!

The International Chili Society is proud to announce that WCCC59 will take place January 14-17, 2027 at Casino Arizona in Scottsdale, Arizona - one of the Southwest's premier destinations for entertainment, hospitality, and unforgettable experiences.

After listening to feedback from cooks, judges, organizers, and fans, ICS is returning the World Championship Chili Cook-off to a dedicated standalone format, putting the spotlight squarely on the traditions, competition, and community that have defined Chili Nation for nearly 60 years.

🧑‍🍳Hundreds of qualified cooks from across the United States and beyond will gather in the heart of the Southwest to compete for World Championship honors, celebrate lifelong friendships, and continue one of Food Sport's most storied traditions.

🌶️🏆 THE CHILI CHALLENGE IS HEATING UP! 🏆🌶️

Today I had the pleasure of meeting with James and Susan, who will serve as our official International Chili Society (ICS) judge and scorekeeper for next month’s Sunny Pointe Chili Challenge!

It was incredible learning from two of the best in the business. As a husband-and-wife team, they travel across the country judging food competitions and helping ensure every event is run to the highest standards. They’ll be bringing their expertise to Sunny Pointe on July 25.

The excitement is building, and we can’t wait to see (and taste!) all the friendly competition as cooks battle it out for cash prizes, bragging rights, and a chance to earn their way to the World Championship Chili Cookoff.

🚨 HOW IN THE WORLD DID WE FIT ALL OF THIS INTO A TRAILER?! 🚨

No, seriously.

What started as a tiny horse trailer is slowly becoming the Sunny Saloon, and every inch has been a puzzle. Between health department requirements, licensing regulations, plumbing, electrical, and making it actually functional, it’s taken a lot more planning than we ever imagined.

The latest progress includes:
✔️ Trim work
✔️ Finished ceiling
✔️ Serving window
✔️ Back door
✔️ Side door

At this point, I’m convinced Jared is performing miracles. Every time I think there’s no room left, he somehow finds space for one more thing.

We’re getting closer, and we can’t wait to serve you all from the Sunny Saloon this season! 🍻🌽.

🎶 Well now, gather ’round and let me tell you a tale about a fella named Jed… 🎶

Meet Jed, the newest member of the Sunny Pointe family! 🤠

After saying some sweet goodbyes to Amy Carpenter and his friends at Happy Highland Farm, Jed loaded up and headed to his new home here at Sunny Pointe. He was greeted by a very curious welcoming committee consisting of Luna, Joe, and our alpacas, who all seemed pretty interested in the new guy on the farm.

So far, he’s taken the move in stride, explored his new surroundings, and is already settling into life on the hillside. We have a feeling he’s going to fit right in and become a favorite with visitors this season.
