After over 25 years and over 200 shows, I've closed my doors to most live performances. While I still host the occasional song circle of local musicians, there have been no formal shows here for ten years, nor do I anticipate any. If Jackson Brown, Greg Brown, or Bob Dylan or Jake Shimubakuru request to play here, I'll happily reopen for them. None of which are likely to do so, tho Jake and Greg have requested to in the past. I thank all of you, attendees, performers, and others who made the Last Chance Cafe the premier house concert series in suburban Philadelphia for over 25 years. I suggest the XFS as a very reasonable alternative. It has been my honor and privilege to have hosted so many amazing performers and concertgoers for almost 3 decades. Any favorite memories are very welcome to be shared. Bright blessings to all who have graced my home, as well as anyone else reading this message.
If I do actually recover from my injuries and resume concerts here, I will certainly welcome you all back !

I'm still alive, but definitely not kicking. I may not open again due to injury and disability, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE support live music and house concerts. After 20+ years and over 250 shows here the echoes in these walls still reverberate, and I am incredibly grateful. Should I be able to, I'd love to do at least one more. If so I'll let you know. Thanks for all your support for over 20 years!

This is Jim Brann, impresario of this establishment.
So, I've come out from being the promoter/emcee/etc role. Feeling somewhat like Vince McMahon, I'm actually fronting? a band. The Brann Flakes are opening for the Gene Smith band this Friday at the mermaid Inn in chestnut hill. We go on about 8:30. Perhaps you'll come see us?

Remember, April Mae and the June bugs make their triumphant return from storming the south this Friday! This is a Philadelphia Folksong Society event, and reservations and tickets must be arranged thru them.
They can be reached at 215-247-1300.
Catch them on fire as they return full of energy from New Orleans and Memphis.

Coming up next Friday, a special Philadelphia folksong society presentation-
April Mae and the June Bugs! Fresh off their tour of the south, this will be one of their few area concerts before heading back on the road.
Reservations must be made thru the folksong society, and seating is limited.

See you Friday February 4th. Doors open at 730, the show starts at 8.
