Our 2024 Grant Recipient, Dr. Taylor Lindsay, defended her PhD last year and kindly acknowledged our organization as one of her funding sources for research. Using the grant funds, Taylor was able to purchase a camera that helps her to take high-quality images that she can use for both her research purposes and outreach. She says this equipment will continue to support her Postdoctoral research! Congratulations, Taylor, and we look forward to seeing more of your research in the future!

We had two fine swimmers complete the around beavertail swim this year! It happened back in August. Pat Reyes has taken over primary responsibility for the swim and you can catch the latest news on the website he has developed beavertailopenwater.org

After a discussion this week pat reyes and i have decided to not offer this swim publicly this year. So no more registrations! We only had two locals sign up and three others. Five swimmers is not enough to do a full event. We have friends who may want to give it a go and we will be contacting them separately about possibilities to have a small group swim. Those who registered thank you!!!!! We will be returning your deposit. Look for us to ramp the event up for next year and try to generate more interest! More on that to come… pat and i are looking forward to a proper amazing event for 2024 with plenty of advance notice and better organization and interest from all. I will be formally cancelling on this page shortly after we figure out how to include pat as owner!!!
