The Citizens Pell Bridge Run returns with a new summer date on Sunday, August 30 at 7:00 a.m.—giving you a chance to experience the bridge in a whole new season.

Don’t miss your chance to cross the postcard-perfect Pell Bridge and its four miles of sweeping views. This is the only day of the year pedestrians can make the journey from Jamestown to Newport, and runners and walkers of all ages are welcome at this family-friendly event. Hosted by the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Foundation, 100% of proceeds support local not-for-profits.

☀️ There is a new summer date for this year's Citizens Pell Bridge Run.

Due to scheduled maintenance and improvements on the Claiborne Pell Newport Bridge this fall, the 2026 event is moving to Sunday, August 30 at 7:00 a.m.—giving you a chance to experience the bridge in a whole new season.

Registration opens May 1. We can’t wait to see you out there!
