Some of our favorite memories happen right here at home.💕

For over 260 years, the Loring Greenough House has stood at the heart of Jamaica Plain — and for the past century, it's been lovingly stewarded by the Jamaica Plain Tuesday Club as a true community gathering place.

Now we'd love to help bring your community together too. If you've celebrated a bridal shower, welcomed a new baby, said "I do," blown out birthday candles, or toasted to another year of marriage in our Georgian mansion, you already know what makes this place so special. It's the history in the walls, the beauty of the gardens, and the warmth of the JP community that fills every room.

As days start getting shorter, Thursdays on the Lawn will be ending earlier (the north Lawn must be cleared before dark but you can still gather under the Hive lights!) but the season runs through Sept. 24.
Then: Oktoberfest on Sept. 26 (during day one of Jamaica Plain Arts Council-JP Open Studios) and then scale back Thursdays during October.

On August 2, Loring Greenough House will be part of JP Summer Fest, hosted by local business owners with support from JP Centre/South Main Streets as a continuation of Open Streets, all happening on the same day. Stop by the Loring Greenough House to enjoy the HIVE Beer Garden, browse local artisans and vendors, and relax with friends and neighbors on our beautiful historic grounds.

Hello friends and neighbors! A friendly reminder that our House is 266 years old! Its siding, windows, and woodwork can't handle rough play. And the gardens! Delicate blooms and growing leaves need special care too. We have to remind everyone kindly but firmly that throwing toys need to be left at home for Thursdays on the Lawn. Thank you for helping to keep our old gem and beautiful gardens safe!

Birds in the Garden! Have you noticed any new feathered friends around the LGH lawn?

The Bird Promenade is a temporary public art project being held June 9th - 21st, 2026 at four concurrent locations around JP. Made in the spirit of convivium and delight, the Bird Promenade is a love letter to this beautiful neighborhood. The sculptures invite the viewer to slow down and consider the present moment. As we rush around in our hectic days, what would it be like to stop and listen to the sounds of the birds all around us?

The Bird Promenade is a project by local artist Lu Valena, and is made possible by an Opportunity Fund Grant grant from the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture.
