JAX 48 Hour Film Project is in Lisbon, Portugal celebrating Filmapalooza 2026. Two Jacksonville films have been screened; ‘Control’ directed by Alexa Wint and ‘Succulent’ starring David Girard. JAX 48 co-city producers Monique and Adam Madrid, along with winning film’s actress, Alyssa Moody, are representing DUUUVAL!

‘Succulent’ took home the award for ‘Best Use of Line’ and was nominated Best Acting for David Girard for the City Producers 48 Hour Film Project Awards.

The main awards show for all the winning city films will be streamed live on YouTube on Saturday, March 28th at 3pm Eastern Time. See what films are heading to the Cannes Film Festival ‘Short Film Corner’ in France. You can watch by clicking link in bio:

Meet the Jax 48 HFP Judging Panel for 2025!

Brian Booker is an American film director, producer, cinematographer, and screenwriter from the Washington D.C. area. Best known for his award-winning directorial debut film in “Joe We Trust” (2013), he has since went on to collaborate on multiple award-winning films, commercials, and documentaries. The eight year Air Force veteran attains a film degree from The Art Institute of Washington and has over 15 years of experience within the film industry.

John Wayne S. III (JW) is a producer, director, and storyteller with over two decades in the entertainment industry. He began his career as a production assistant, learning the craft from the ground up before moving into the music world, where he worked alongside Grammy-nominated producer Steve “Silk” Hurley as Director of International A&R, managing teams in the UK and Japan and scouting global talent. As founder of Londyn Town Pictures, JW has produced over 200 music videos and multiple feature films, including “Red All Over”, “Ebony Hustle 1 & 2”, “Plugged”, and “False Profits”, with millions of streams worldwide. Known for merging creativity with business savvy, he develops projects that inspire, entertain, and resonate across cultures. A proud father, lifelong Whovian, and curator of ‘80s TV and pop music, JW brings heart, wit, and authenticity to every story he tells.

Jeremy Fothergill is a Louisville-based filmmaker and founder of the new company Lewis & Iris Entertainment, where he leads both commercial and original film projects. With over 16 years of experience, he specializes in bold, character-driven storytelling. Jeremy brings a passion for resourceful, high-impact filmmaking and is excited to celebrate the creativity and hustle behind every 48 Hour Film entry.
