We remember. We can never not. It was a day that is imprinted on so many of our minds and hearts. It was a day that shook our nation. A day of heartbreak, fear, and resilience.
And still, after 25 years, we continue to remember and honor all those who lost their lives that day and those who continued to be impacted long after.

What an incredible evening celebrating the future of agriculture in Onslow County!

Tonight, Onslow County Farm Bureau had the honor of recognizing three outstanding individuals who are making a difference in agriculture and agricultural education.

🎓 2026 Scholarship Recipient – Dillon Simmons
A 2026 graduate of White Oak High School, Dillon will attend NC State University this fall to pursue a degree in Crop and Soil Sciences. We can’t wait to see all he accomplishes!

🎓 2026 Scholarship Recipient – Chloe Hunsinger
A 2025 graduate of White Oak High School, Chloe is currently attending Lenoir Community College studying Agricultural Education. Her goal is to return to Onslow County and inspire the next generation through agricultural education, a mission we’re proud to support!

🍃 Going Local Grant Recipient – Codi Barbee
Codi Barbee of Richlands Elementary School was recognized as this year’s Onslow County Going Local Grant recipient. Her grant will help fund a hydroponic tower, providing students with hands-on opportunities to learn about sustainable agriculture and where their food comes from.

Congratulations to each of these deserving recipients! Your passion, dedication, and commitment to agriculture are inspiring, and we are proud to invest in the future of our communities.
