It is with profoundly broken hearts that we share the devastating loss of our beloved Caleb Whitehead. Caleb was only 22 years old, but the mark he left on our organization, our hearts and our lives is immeasurable. Caleb was a highly-intelligent, hilarious, kind, dependable, charming and genuinely one of the hardest-working people anyone could ever hope to know.
More than a co-worker Caleb was and always will be family and in a work family as close as ours, his presence will forever be woven into the fabric of who we are.
Caleb first became part of our team in 2021, working in our Parking division when we were still at our Downtown location. From the very beginning, he was a total rockstar. Parking for sold-out Jaguars games, Jumbo Shrimp games, Arena shows and major events is not for the faint of heart. It takes patience, hustle, quick thinking and a calm confidence most people twice his age are still trying to find. Caleb handled it all with ease. He showed up, worked hard, made people laugh and earned respect simply by being exactly who he was.
In September 2023, Caleb became a full-time member of the JaxFair family in our Facilities Department, the backbone of our entire organization and, without question, one of the most important departments we have. Soon after, he became 2nd in command of this department. Needless to say, he excelled here too. He brought pride to his work, heart to his team and a lightness to even the longest, hardest days --all at the young age of 22.
To know Caleb was to adore him. To work beside him was to trust him. To laugh with him was to understand how bright one person’s presence could make a place feel. He truly lit up the room⭐.
There are no words big enough for this kind of loss. But there is love big enough to carry his name forward. Caleb will always be adored here. Always respected. Always remembered. Always part of us.
Our hearts are with Caleb’s family, his friends, his JaxFair family and every person lucky enough to have known him. We love you, Caleb. Always.
