Mahdi Khene is a New York City–based cartoonist, publisher, and co-founder of the independent comics imprint Zuperhero Comics, known for his energetic DIY approach to comics and storytelling. Drawing inspiration from underground comics, 1980s pop culture, genre films, and classic black-and-white independent comics, he has earned acclaim for creator-owned works such as Steel Streets and Bootleg Spider-Man. Through his publishing work, zines, and original comics, Khene continues to champion the spirit of independent comics while building a unique universe of characters and stories.

Indie Comics Creator Con is now accepting artist table applications for the 2026 show in Jacksonville, FL. With 20,000 square feet dedicated entirely to the craft of comic creation, this is your chance to showcase your work in a space built for indie talent.
