We are excited to share that Camp Chase Fifes and Drums will once again be joining us at the Jackson Civil War Muster August 22-23, 2026. Since 1983, Camp Chase has been a leader in historical military field music, bringing to life the sounds that inspired soldiers over 150 years ago. Named after the historic Union Army training camp and Confederate prisoner of war camp near Columbus, Ohio, they perform on authentic wooden fifes and rope tension drums, playing from the same field music manuals used from the mid-1700s through the late-1800s. Their music captures the spirit, discipline, and energy of the era like no other.

From performing at the 1985 Presidential Inaugural to appearing in films such as Gettysburg and Gods and Generals, Camp Chase has brought the sound of history to audiences across the country. They have played with orchestras, at reenactments, and at events from Connecticut to Colorado, and now they are coming to Jackson. This is your chance to experience the stirring rhythms and timeless melodies that once guided troops on the march. Bring your family, feel the history, and join us for a weekend you will not forget.
