SALSA CASINO 4 WEEK SERIES with ADOLFO CASTILLO 🇨🇺️ BEGINNER Through PERFORMANCE LEVEL 💃

Join Adolfo Castillo for an exciting 4-week journey into Salsa Casino, from beginner fundamentals to advanced performance training. Build confidence, connect with great people, move to incredible music, and become part of Ithaca's growing dance community. SALSA CASINO LEVEL 1
WEDNESDAYS 6:30-7:30PM 4 WEEK SERIES June 10th - July 1st
This series introduces Casino, aka Cuban Salsa, preparing dancers for a journey into one of the world’s most dynamic social dances. The areas of focus are: 1) Posture, body movement, and style; 2) Rhythm, coordination, and projection; 3) Basic step, variations, dance positions, and movement; and 4) Core figures. Once students have progressed in these objectives, they progress to the next level, where more complex and stylish content is introduced.

SALSA CASINO LEVEL 2
WEDNESDAYS 7:40-8:40PM 4 WEEK SERIES June 10th - July 1st
Students strengthen their foundation from Level 1 while learning traditional Casino figures and modern variations, using clear transitions with spatial awareness. Students develop the ability to improvise by combining traditional figures, taking into account their partner, the structure of the music (verse vs. montuno), and the mood of the moment. By advancing these objectives, students become ready to learn more advanced and eye-catching content.

SALSA CASINO LEVEL 3 (RUEDA DE CASINO)
TUESDAYS 6:15-7:15PM 4 WEEK SERIES June 9th - June 30th
Students learn the foundations of Rueda de Casino, integrating previous content with new figures and coordinated group formations. Students perform figures involving partner changes, group movement, use of dance elements from other Cuban and international styles, off-beat (contratiempo) rhythm, and surprise transitions.

ADVANCED PERFORMANCE GROUP
THURSDAYS 6:30-7:30PM 4 WEEK SERIES June 11th - July 2nd
Members are invited from Level 3 and learn choreography, build repertoire, and polish technique and presentation with the goals of representing this art form to the public.

Students wishing to participate must register and pay the full fee for Level 1 and Level 2 series before the first class begins—either online or upon arrival at the studio a few minutes before the first class. Payment covers the entire monthly series. Drop-in is available for Level 3 and higher.
