CALLING ALL PERFORMERS & ENTERTAINERS!

The Ishpeming Kriskindlmarkt is looking for talented performers to help bring the magic of the U.P.’s first traditional European Christmas Market to life!

We’re inviting bands, quartets, string ensembles, singers, choirs, carolers, drumlines, magicians, small acts, dancers, ice sculptors, blacksmiths, and entertainers of all kinds for all ages to be part of this exciting new holiday tradition!

**Where can you perform?**

•Market Square— outdoor performances surrounded by the sights and sounds of the market
•Snowshoe Pub— a heated tent with a festive atmosphere
•The Mather — small indoor performance opportunities

2026 Market Dates & Hours

Friday, November 27: 2–9 PM
Saturday, November 28: Noon–9 PM
Friday, December 4: 4–9 PM
Saturday, December 5: Noon–9 PM

Whether you're a seasoned performer, a local school group, a community choir, or someone with a unique talent to share, we want to hear from you!

Help us fill downtown Ishpeming with live music, artistry, entertainment, and holiday cheer while creating an unforgettable experience for visitors from across the U.P. and beyond!

WOW! We now have 15 hut sponsorships for the Ishpeming Kriskindlmarkt Year 1!

5 huts are Completed (Thank you Westwood HS and NMU Construction Management!)
8 huts are currently being built (Thank you Ishpeming HS, Westwood HS, Ishpeming Fire Department and NMU Construction Management)
1 hut is about to get started (Eagle Scout Project)

We need just ONE more builder for Hut #15!

Each hut will adorn a Built by ornament plaque and Sponsored by ornament plaque for the life of the hut. ($3,000 sponsorship)

Getting close to Year 1 Grand Opening. With a need for builders that means all new hut sponsorships moving forward will go toward hut builds in 2027 as we continue to grow the market!

Thank you to every sponsor, builder, volunteer, and community partner helping bring this vision to life. What started as an idea two years ago is quickly becoming something truly special for Ishpeming and the entire U.P.!

A big thank you to the Ishpeming Fire Department for all they do to keep our community safe and for volunteering to build one of our Kriskindlmarkt huts! We appreciate your service and support!

Speaking of fire, does anyone have a cord of firewood they’d be willing to donate? We’ll have two fire pits on-site for visitors to warm up by during both weekends. We’ll also be offering *S’mores with Santa* during select Kinder Area times too!

Thank you for helping us bring a little extra warmth and that market magic to Ishpeming!

A great evening honoring Mr. Dave Holli, the Kriskindlmarkt’s first donor and believer in what we are creating right here in Ishpeming! Dave’s decades of leadership, philanthropy, and dedication to Ishpeming have left a lasting impact on our community, from serving as mayor to championing local businesses and helping keep the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame and Museum right here in Ishpeming. We’re grateful to have his support as we build a new tradition for our community! The Hall of Fame staff and volunteers are working to be open during part of the market for all visitors to experience this hidden gem on the highway.

Our 2026 Kriskindlmarkt Vendors!

Continued! Facebook told us we tagged too many vendors in our first post, so we’re sharing the love with a second post! 🤪

Some vendors will be joining us the first weekend, some the second weekend, and some for both! Vendors will be located throughout the Market Huts and The Mather Ballroom, as we work within our limited hut space during Year 1.

Vendors part #2: Velodrome Coffee Company, 906 Pet Treats, Scarlet Hooks, Campfire Coffee, The Crafty Bee, Daisy Hill Creations, Pressed Objects, Trendy Bubs, Sweet Stitches, Jackie Marie LLC Jackie Solomon, Heimerl Handcrafted, Honey Haven Baking Co., Andraste Designs, Sovereign Skincare, Handmade Muse, Doozers, Doughmama Mqt, Bergy Bread, Feisty Felter, Alesia Braund Artist, Galilee Good, and Sage & Spry.

The Mather, Ishpeming Community Events/DDA & Kriskindlmarkt refreshments: Hot Cocoa, Glögi (mulled w**e), b**r, and Upper Hand Brewery Cheermeister Ale will be available throughout the Markt and Snowshoe Pub.

MEET OUR 2026 KRISKINDLMARKT VENDORS!

The huts are coming together, the plans are coming together, and now we’re excited to introduce the amazing vendors who will help bring this inaugural market to life this Christmas season!

From handcrafted gifts and local art to unique holiday finds, food, drinks, and more, our vendors will make the Markt a place to shop local, discover something new, and find a little Christmas magic.

We’ll be announcing our vendors in more detail over the coming weeks, so keep an eye on our page as we introduce them! Some vendors will be here for just the first weekend, some for just the second weekend, and some for both, so you’ll want to come back!

We’ll have familiar staples throughout both weekends, while also welcoming more than 50 vendors from Ishpeming, Marquette, Negaunee, Gwinn, and communities throughout the Midwest.

As we launch this first year, we’ve been working within our start-up costs and building timeline. We’ll have 14 huts ready for Year 1, along with 15 additional vendors inside the Mather, plus a few food trucks along Canada Street.

All vendors who applied to be a part of our inaugural year have been notified of their acceptance or denial. Reach out if you didn’t see it. ([email protected])

We had so many great vendors apply, and unfortunately, we simply don’t have the space to accept everyone with over 60 applicants.

Our goal is to have 14 wooden huts outside in the Market Square and 15 vendor tables inside The Mather Ballroom for our first year.

We also have some vendors who will only be joining us for one of the two weekends, so you may want to come back for both!

Still time to apply to be a part of the Performance or Entertainment aspect of the market. Think live bands, choirs, children’s activities, ice sculpture artists, actors, small musical groups like brass band, quartet, solo, strings. Locations: outside(market square), semi heated b**r tent, inside(The Mather), inside(The Gossard, Library, and other downtown businesses as available). Link in comments.

We have 10 huts in process or already built for year 1! We have funding for 5 more huts this year but looking for volunteers to build them. Could be a fun workplace project too. These huts are 7’x8’ and we have the plans to share. Can be built outside while it’s nice or in any shop and transported to Ishpeming after as they are collapsible. Please join us in attending the final Ishpeming Farmers Market and Thursday Night Music on Main in downtown Ish tonight! 6pm-8:30pm, music starts at 7pm and a passing of the torn/lantern ceremony around 8pm. Each week saw on average over 1,000 people which is amazing for Ishpeming's resurgence! See you tonight, weather looks great!
