Polar Roll XI will forever be one to remember... Paul Hytinen is a 906 Adventure Team volunteer and lead groomer for the event. Brandon Doran is a photgrapher, videographer, and storuyteller. They joined Todd on the MADE U.P. Podcast to talk about what they saw at the MS and Ultra... and they give a preview of what we plan to do next year. 40% of MS riders texted ... and 90% of the Ultra did, too. The guys unpack what quitting means and how it should be viewed as the beginning of an adventure... not the end.

But wait there's more... Steve didn't quit! I read his text wrong. He was letting me know his neck hurt and that he was moving slow.

I don't know why, but when I got home this afternoon I thought to myself, "I wonder if that guy went back out." I pulled up the map.. and there's his dot half way around Al Quaal. I looked back at the text and realized I'd read it wrong... I jumped in the truck and ran up to Ishpeming just in time to meet him as he was coming outta the woods.

We're gonna call his unofficial finish 60 hours. Steve and I parted ways because I had to get home to have dinner with the family & he needed to head to West End Ski & Trail to make it official. He's gonna come back up in a week and be a guest on the MADE U.P. Podcast.

Congratulations, Steve. Helluva way to wrap up the week. Now... I can say da course is clear and da 2026 Polar Roll is officially over.
