Mark your calendars! 📅 Sunday, June 14th -- Flag Day 🇺🇸🇺🇸

The Hanson-Maki American Legion Post 506 and the Iron River VFW Post #10197 have collaborated to present a FREE COMMUNITY BBQ in honor of Flag Day and our Nation's 250th Anniversary!

A Flag Retirement Ceremony will be held at Noon, followed by the free meal and LIVE MUSIC by the very talented Circleback! 🤩🎶

Attendees are welcome to bring a dish to share, and free will donations are also appreciated.

Bring your friends 👫👭👬, your appetite 🍔🌭, your dancing shoes 👠👞 and your Patriotic Spirit 🎉🇺🇸 over to the Iron River VFW on Sunday June 14th! We can't wait to see everyone!

Our VFW Commander, Tom, was recently presented a very nice thank you by Skip from the Northland Peggers #474 Cribbage Club for the use of our space to play Grass Roots Cribbage every Wednesday evening!

All Things Memorial Day 2026!

Pancake Breakfast on Monday the 25th from 8-1, the Auxiliary will be out and about with buddy poppies all weekend long at various locations, and our combined honor guard will be providing services at several local cemeteries Monday morning from 8:30-1:00. We of course will also be serving up Friday night fish fry from 4-8!

All VFW Auxiliary members, from any Post, are also being treated to a free meal (tonight only) in appreciation of your "Unwavering Support to Uncommon Heroes".

Our Auxiliary is celebrating **55 YEARS** of providing "Unwavering Support to Uncommon Heroes" on April 13! They are the driving force behind so many of our events at the Post, are silently supporting numerous other community needs and we don't know what we would do without them.

That said, to honor all that our Auxiliary does for us and for others, FRIDAY, APRIL 17TH is VFW AUXILIARY APPRECIATION NIGHT. Auxiliary members from ANY VFW are invited in to enjoy a free fish fry as a thank you for all you do to support your Post, your community and most especially our Veterans.
