This mid April Red Cloud bull calf is certainly a standout. He is the natural calf out of our donor cow and shows just why we flushed her. We are excited to watch this guy continue to grow and develop.

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. We have loved this bull and have been blessed to use him for the last couple years. But now it’s time to sell our herd bull. Lindy, as we call him, has done a terrific job for us. We’ve used him on heifers and had zero issues calving them out. He’s a stout made, flexible bull that will work for anyone. He’s got a solid set of EPDs but more importantly makes good cattle. We’ve sold two daughters that grossed $13,500. Another daughter won her division at World Beef Expo. He’s also produced a solid set of feeder calves. As an added bonus, he’s halter broke and extremely easy to work with. He respects single hot wire fences. Reach out with any questions!

The cows are enjoying the cooler temps and the fresh grass. Our pastures took awhile to bounce back after the heat and dry stretch of weather we had in July, so we had to give a couple pastures extra time to recover. The calves are growing well and we are excited to watch them continue to grow!

It’s been a busy summer here so far. We finished up AI season and putting embryos in and kicked out the bull. We’ve also been doing our best to put up some high quality hay for the cows this winter. Thanks to Ryan Kahlscheuer for wrapping hay. Feel free to reach out to him to get your hay wrapped!

Rooted in freedom. Grounded in tradition.

For 250 years, American agriculture has helped shape this nation, and Hereford cattle have long been part of that story. Here's to the people, the purpose and the promise of the next generation.
