Official Rules for 209 Rc Drag
Street Outlaw 2024
1. Chassis:
2wd 12-13.5" wheelbase.
Rear Motor and Mid Motor Allowed
No 4wd or 4wd to 2wd conversions.
2. Motor & ESC:
2.1 Motor:
Any commonly over the counter 1/10 RC car motor. HARDWARE MUST BE AVALABLE 21 DAYS IN ADVANCE OF ANY EVENT.
Maximum Allowed can size is 550.
2.2 ESC:
Any commonly available, over the counter ESC. HARDWARE MUST BE AVALABLE 21 DAYS IN ADVANCE OF ANY EVENT.
** Full Speed Control Timing and Tuning Allowed.
** No "Assist" receivers or gyros, or any driving assist items allowed. No AVC Receivers. No
TSM receivers.
3. Battery:
Any commercially available 2s (in store or online) Lithium-Ion Polymer (LiPo), Graphene, or
LiPo HV Battery.
Must have a plug or bullet connectors (no hard wiring)
Single battery pack Only! No multi packs plugged in parallel.
A hard case is not required.
A 3D printed case for your pack is encouraged.
3.1 Voltage:
A Maximum of 8.44 Volts will be allowed.
4. Tires:
Front: Any commercially available (in store or online rubber with foam insert type.
No 0-Ring type. Min size 68mm or 2.68 inches
Real: Any commercially available (in store or online) rubber with foam insert type.
Treaded and slicks acceptable.
4.1 Foam Insert
Foam insert is not required in front or rear tires but maybe ran.
4.2 Prep:
Use of tire prep is allowed
4.3 Burn Out:
A burn out is not required, but we highly encourage it
5. Suspension:
Must have fully articulating suspension arms as found on typical short course trucks, using an inner hinge pin(s) for attachment to the chassis and outer hinge pin(s) for the attachment of the steering caster block(s) and the drive hub(s). This constitutes the use of four(4) inner hinge
pin(s) and four (4) outer hinge pin(s). The use of adjustable front or rear suspension arms)
(Custom Works Style) for toe adjustments are allowed. No system of suspension is allowed that introduces or allows for an form of "active toe".
5.1. Shocks:
Must have four (4) shocks on all four (4) corners of the suspension, actively attached to the suspension arm or hub/caster block assembly. All four (4) shocks are to have movement, along with the suspension arms with a minimum of 1/4" (.25 inches) or 6.35 mm of travel.
6. Transmission:
Car must use a 3-5 gear transmission (gear box)
Belts or link conversions not allowed.
7. Weight:
Cars ready to run must meet a minimum weight of 4.54lbs, 72.6oz, or 2060 grams
8. Wheelie bar:
No item may extend more than 14" from the rear dogbone including any wheelie bar parts or wheels.
8.1 Wheelie Bar Wheels:
Maximum of 1.5" tall wheels.
8.2 Wheelie Bar Active Adiustment:
There is to be no radio controlled, active adjustment to any wheelie bar device. A driver set, mechanical kickstand, aka Billy Bob device, is acceptable.
9. Body:
Must be a realistic looking drag car style body.
Pro Mods Allowed.
Body must cover wheels (i.e. no buggies)
Wheel well must be cut exposing a minimum of 1/2 the wheel.
9.1 Rear Body Cutouts:
The rear section of the body (valance/bumper panel) may be removed to mount a spoiler.
**Must retain the Original rear side quarter fenders, trunk lid and/or pickup bed.**
9.2 Bod Holes:
Up to four (4) holes for mounting, no larger than " at any location on the bod are allowed Window cut outs Not allowed.
Extra holes will need to be covered in tape or stickers of body has been remounted.
9.3 Spoilers and Splitters:
Rear wings, spoilers, and side dams may extend off the body's rear deck a max of 3 inches and cannot extend taller than parallel to the roofline.
Rear spoilers supplied with a body are considered legal for that body in their intended design.
Nose splitters may extend a max of 1/2" from the edge of the body.
10.0 General Rules & Misc.:
10.1 Back Up Vehicles:
Racers are allowed to have a primary and a back up race car. Each car must be presented before the first round for marking. Examples are (tamper proof stickers, tech markings) this will be left to the race director to determine the best way mark cars for their race. If your primary car becomes unable to race the backup may be presented to race,the primary car that is broke shall be impounded. Parts may be taken off to use but the main chassis must be impounded. The primary car is then deemed unusable the rest of the event. A car can only be used by one competitor only. If your backup is not checked in before the first round you cannot tech one in after the start of the first round. Cars cannot be transferred from racer to racer.
Once the first round starts your teched in cars are all you are allowed to race in accordance to the procedure stated above.

No use of prep is allowed either physically on the tire or the racing surface. It is at the race directors discression to define or institue what they feel is a dry tire and how they will tech such.
The NPRC at this time defines a dry tire as any tire that is void of any externally or internally, physically applied prep in any way. (ie. If you physically apply any substance to the tire that makes it physically and abnormally stickier than produced, this is NOT a dry tire and is a disqualification)
4.3 Burn Out:
A burn out is required. It is not to be performed directly where the car is to be launched from in the race.
When Burnouts are being done by racers they must be done on the race surface behind the starting line. A burnout box will be defined by the race director.

Must have fully articulating suspension arms as found on typical short course trucks, using an inner hinge pins for attachment to the chassis and outer hinge pin(s) for the attachment of the steering caster block(s) and the drive hub (s). This constitutes the use of four (4) inner hinge pin(s) and four (4) outer hinge pin(s). The use of adjustable front or rear suspension arms (Custom Works Style) for toe adjustments are allowed. No system of suspension is allowed that introduces or allows for any form of "active toe".

Any commonly available, over the counter ESC. HARDWARE MUST BE AVALABLE 21 DAYS IN ADVANCE OF ANY EVENT.

** "Assist" receivers or gyros, AVC Receivers, TSM receivers etc. MUST BE DISABLED **
2.3 RTR Electronics:
NPRC Ready to Run Class Electronics are allowed in Real Street
3. Battery:
Any ROAR approved 2s hard cased Lithium-lon Polymer (LiPo), Graphene, or LiPo HV battery. Battery must be on and has cleared ROAR approval. No packs that have been submitted, awaiting approval etc. It must be published as approved. Battery MUST have plug/connector or bullet connectors. NO hard wiring allowed.
SINGLE battery pack only. NO multiple pack batteries plugged in parallel.
3.1 Voltage:

Body must cover wheels (i.e. no buggies)
Wheel wells must be cut along the cut line. Where a cut line is not present the body must be cut exposing the entire wheel and at least 1/3 of the tire (rubber) at all four corners while car is at ride height.
9.1 Rear Body Cutouts:
Entire rear of body must remain in place and cut along the molded cut lines. Molded in bumpers MAY NOT be removed, altered, or modified in any way, or be removed and reattached with the exception of any bodies that the rear bumper is molded separately. In the case of a separate bumper, it is to be attached, so as to meet the measurements set forth here in the rear body cut line guide-
Rear cut out; If the body does not have a molded bumper, the rear cutout must be between 19.05 mm (.75in) and 44.45 mm (1.75in) as measured from the bottom plane of the chassis plate.
**Must retain the original rear bumper, rear side quarter fenders/panels, trunk lid and/or pick up bed.**
9.1.2 Front Body Trimming
The full front bumper and grille(s) must remain intact.
**Making the body an aggressive wedge is not allowed **

Ready to Run class
