Allen Theatre & Film Department Allen Theatre and Film provides a high-quality theatre education and film production experience!

Allen Theatre produces four to five shows a year, while also producing a show as part of the Allen Summer Theatre organization. We have classes in acting, stagecraft, voice & diction and improvisation that will give you a solid foundation in theatre skills. Allen CC is part of the Kansas Regent's system of higher education, preparing students for transfer to universities in Kansas and elsewhere.

We’re on our way back to Kansas today, but our last day in Wisconsin was truly magical! We had dinner with a beautiful view of the Wisconsin River, and the students did a W for Wisconsin!

We saw our second show at APT’s flagship outdoor amphitheater that seats over 1,000!

We got a picture with APT’s 2026 Regional Tony Award! And we met lots of the incredible artists who helped win it (including our own faculty)!

Follow ATF on their Wisconsin Adventure! Here’s an overview of the incredible first day: First Stop was Electronic Theatre Controls where we got a comprehensive tour of their facilities where they make the theatre tech magic happen!

Then we saw the incredible production Casey and Diana in the Touchstone Theatre at APT!

Then we had dinner at The Old Feed Mill. A historic building converted into a wonderful restaurant!

Then we ended the day at our lodge which has a gazebo and some beautiful views of the Driftless landscape!

We made it through 4 states to Wisconsin! Our first stop of the trip was Electronic Theatre Controls (ETC) the premiere entertainment lighting company that makes their products right here in the United States and employs around 1,500 people worldwide. They provide lights not only for Broadway, but also for NFL stadiums, Disney and Universal Theme Parks, and even the Olympics (just to name a few)! We love showing our students how many kinds of careers are available in the arts! Thanks ETC for such a wonderful and informative experience!!!

Bowlus Executive Director Mandy Moyer brought the artist Ronnie Marmo, successful TV actor, and writer/producer/director/star of the two shows being presented at the Bowlus Fine Arts Center this weekend, to talk to our ATF students yesterday! He talked with the students about how to navigate work as a professional actor and multi-hyphenate artist in LA and touring around the country. The Bowlus also provided free tickets to BOTH of Ronnie’s shows for students not attending our Allen at American Players Theatre Trip. We are so grateful for our connection to the Bowlus and the resources they provide; and to Ronnie Marmo for being so generous with his time and his great insights!
