Donkey etiquette was key at our event last week!
We were surrounded by spring blossoms at Chateau Chantal, treated to an amazing spread from the chef, award-winning wines, and greeted by adorable donkeys on the lawn!
Cassandra Rossbach of TC Spirit Donkeys and Little Long Ears Provisions taught us the proper way to approach the donkeys — always from the side! Hands up if you’re feeding them, hands down if you’re petting them. Within minutes, everyone was fully invested in donkey etiquette and completely charmed by these sweet little personalities.
Of course, one of the first questions asked was: “How do you milk a donkey?” Cassandra shared the benefits of donkey milk and the journey she and her husband Jeff have been on as they’ve expanded their businesses over the last nine years.
She also introduced us to some of their products, including her strong recommendation that everyone needs to try the Black Garlic Vinegar because, according to Cassandra, it goes with absolutely anything and everything!
Cassandra also shared how they created Donkey Fuel, their natural wellness shot made with Fire Cider Vinegar, tart cherry concentrate, and hydrogen water.
A huge thank you to Marie-Chantal Dalese, Ann, and Sarah at Chateau Chantal for creating such a welcoming and beautiful evening on Old Mission Peninsula for Northern Michigan Woman Community & Events!
And thank you to Rachel Straughen Photography for capturing all the fun, laughter, connection, and yes… donkey moments!
