A moment of reflection and gratitude from the Oklahoma New Year Committee. Long post alert!
First and foremost, thank you to all the vendors who stuck it out with us through the rain and challenges. Your resilience and commitment helped keep the spirit of the Oklahoma Hmong New Year alive.
A huge โThank Youโ to the incredible community that showed up and lined up to attendโrain or shine. Your presence, despite the downpour, reminded us of the strength and spirit that defines the Oklahoma Hmong New Year.
We also extend our deepest gratitude to all our sponsorsโyour generosity and support made this celebration possible. Together, you helped create a meaningful experience for our community.
We saw the long lines and heard about the line extending out to Hwy 412. It was unfortunate that the weather was not on our side, the long lines of cars from the community brought tears to our eyes as we had to close the parking lot.
Our team was devastated as many months of organizing, setting up, and preparing abruptly came to a halt. We acknowledged the weather was coming and tried our best to accommodate, but it was a losing battle on Saturday. Distressed by the never-ending rain and considering all the vendors' hardships, we needed to regroup, collaborate our minds, weigh out our options, and find a solution to honor all.
After holding an emergency meeting, we concluded with a shuttling system for Sunday. Established connections were made to get this arrangement set up, and with quick coordination and determination, plans were solidified.
Weโd like to take a moment to recognize one of our key individuals whose leadership, dedication, and behind-the-scenes efforts made a lasting impact on this yearโs Oklahoma Hmong New Year celebration.
๐ MVP Shoutout: Weโd like to honor our MVPโVendor Coordinator Nou, Niam Txawj Vam Laujโfor going above and beyond to support the Oklahoma Hmong New Year. Through her strong connections and unwavering dedication, she helped us secure last-minute bussing so attendees could join us on Sunday. We are deeply thankful to have her on our team and forever grateful for the resources, heart, and leadership she brings.
On Sunday morning, Nou, Txawj Vam, and their sons also stepped in to assist with onsite directional supportโensuring smooth arrivals and safe transitions for our guests. Their teamwork and generosity made a lasting impact.

๐ Shoutout to Our HMAAO Advisors
We extend our deepest appreciation to our HMAAO Advisors for stepping up during Sunday morningโs traffic and transportation challenges. Dressed down and hands-on, these former leaders showed true humility and heartโsacrificing their time to assist with last-minute bridge coordination and serve as onsite bus attendants.
Their quiet leadership and willingness to serve remind us that true community spirit never retires. Thank you for continuing to build bridgesโliterally and figurativelyโfor the Oklahoma Hmong New Year.
๐ Shoutout to Our Limousine Sponsors
Giving back with styleโthank you for the generous credit that allowed guests to enjoy smooth, elegant transportation to and from the parking location. Your generosity helped elevate the Oklahoma Hmong New Year experience for all. Your support added a touch of celebration, dignity, and comfort to the day.
