CASTING NOTICE – Lark Barken
Doublewide, Texas Christmas
Desert Theatreworks is seeking a female-presenting performer (20s–early 30s) for Lark Barken, a warm, sincere, Southern character with gentle humor. Lark is Georgia Dean’s kind-hearted co-worker and a new mother. A natural or strong Southern/Texas accent is preferred.
Character Requirements
Strong comedic timing
Consistent Southern/Texas accent
Comfortable with simple “new mother” stage business
Strong ensemble skills
Schedule Overview
Rehearsals: Sunday–Thursday evenings, Oct. 19–Dec. 4, 2025
Tech/Dress: Included within this range
Performances: Thursdays–Sundays, Dec. 5–28, 2025
