The Indianola City Council will conduct a public hearing on the proposed Fiscal Year City property tax levy as follows:

Meeting Date: April 6, 2026
Meeting Time: 6:00 p.m.
Meeting Location: City Hall Council Chambers, 110 N 1st St., Indianola, IA 50125

At the public hearing, any resident or taxpayer may present objections to, or arguments in favor of, the proposed tax levy. After the hearing of the proposed tax levy, the City Council will publish notice and hold a hearing on the proposed city budget.

CALL FOR ARTISTS! The Indianola Public Arts Commission is excited to invite artists to apply for the 2026 Indianola Art Festival! Join us for a beautiful day of art, live music, and food in the historic Buxton Park. We are looking for creators of original, handcrafted artwork to join our lineup of over 30 artists. Whether you are a painter, sculptor, jeweler, or mixed-media artist, we want to see your work!

Event Date: Sunday, September 20, 2026
Location: Buxton Park (705 N Buxton), Indianola, IA
Time: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Rain or Shine)

Booth Fee: $100 (due by July 1) for a 15'x15' space.
Jury Process: New artists must submit 3 photos of work + 1 booth photo. (Returning artists from last year are exempt!)
Requirement: All work must be original and handcrafted. (No resale items or crafters permitted).
Application Deadline: May 1, 2026

The musical stylings of Jeremy Griffin, girls rock! DSM, Lyza Cue, and Heidi Lynn started Saturday off right! Dea ex Machina and Mia Prosperi closed out Day 1 with the artists at Buxton Park!

Come on down to the Indianola Summer Art Festival from 10 am - 4 pm on Sunday for more
music, art, and incredible food!

The entire street is lined with food trucks, Covered Bridges Winery is there, and there are over 30 artists participating, playing, offering, and volunteering!
