Indianapolis Book & Author Benefit Luncheon

Indianapolis Book & Author Benefit Luncheon Indy’s beloved literary tradition raising funds for scholarships and educational programs, changing lives since 1981. Featuring today’s most celebrated authors.

Sells out every year. Hosted by the Christamore House Guild in support of Christamore House. Book and Author Benefit Luncheon will gather six national authors along with nearly 900 attendees comprised of mainly female leaders, volunteers and professionals for a luncheon event highlighting the writers and their new work. The novelists will share their personal account of their new release and approach to writing. Authors are available to sign book purchases. All patron book purchases, gifts and corporate underwriting donations are presented to the Francis Carter Coburn Scholarship Fund as well as other educational programs at the Christamore House. The event has raised over $2.6 Million dollars to provide scholarships to more than 900 students from the Indianapolis Haughville neighborhood pursuing undergraduate degrees, postgraduate degrees, and vocational training. A special guest patrons’ reception is held the evening prior to showcase the esteemed authors and their work with book signing throughout the evening.

A breathtaking reimagining of Cinderella, as told through the eyes of its iconic “evil” stepmother, revealing a propulsive love story about the lengths a mother will go to for her children.
Twice-widowed, Lady Etheldreda Verity Isolde Tremaine Bramley is solely responsible for her two children, a priggish stepdaughter, a razor-taloned peregrine falcon, and a crumbling manor. Fierce and determined, Ethel clings to the respectability her deceased husband’s title affords her, hoping it will secure her daughters’ future through marriage.

When a royal ball offers the chance to change everything, Ethel pursues an invitation for all three of her daughters—only to see her hopes fulfilled by the wrong one. As an engagement to the future king unfolds, Ethel discovers a sordid secret hidden in the depths of the royal family, forcing her to choose between the security she craves and the well-being of the stepdaughter who has rebuffed her at every turn.
