Building Community. We were made for community. We were not made to walk this life alone. It is just too hard. I believe that the kitchen is where life truly happens. Conversation is easier when the aroma is good and the hands are moving. It is a place where children lean against the cabinets and tell their stories of the day while dinner is cooking. It is a place where husbands or wives (depending on who is cooking) look over shoulders and sneak samples of the anticipated dinner to come. The kitchen is full of stories. Stories of incredible recipes and burnt dinners. All of which create memories of relationship. The kitchen is a place in peoples homes where dirty dishes left in the sink tell a story of the business and the gathering of family. The kitchen is a place that no matter how we design a house, it gets the most attention because it is simply the kitchen.

The Mary Magdalene House is a mission. A mission based out of the kitchen. A place where stories are told, community is built and healing happens all in a kitchen.

Do you have a family member or close friend that is battling mental illness? Learning how to be supportive and help them heal is something you really want?

Do you feel like you are in an endless battle and no support? I want to remind you, you don't have to do it alone. There is support and ways you can help your loved one.

NAMI Family to Family Class begins in June. Yes it is an 8 week commitment, but it a class that can change your life and your loved ones. 8 weeks is a short time compared to a lifetime of feeling alone and not supported.

Classes begin Monday June 1st. Dinner will be provide. The class is free of charge.

John and I have been out of town for a few days visiting his mom in Oregon. It was nice to get away but always good to be back home. Thank you to all who held down the fort while we were gone. We are excited to be back worshiping with you on Sunday and begin the summer schedule on Tuesday! Blessing to you all, John and Annette
