One year ago today, we gathered with our families and friends for an old-fashioned barn dedication—most importantly, dedicating Smith Acres to my mother, Sue, and honoring the memory of my late father, Glen Smith.
Our journey began 3½ years ago, including 2½ years of renovating and preparing the property before opening our doors. We’re still not finished, with many more plans and dreams for Smith Acres!
Much of the original wood and old roofing were reused in the new barn, and the windows came from the farmhouse—preserving pieces of the property’s history while giving them new life.
What an incredible first year in business it has been! Shelley and I have learned so much, met so many wonderful people, and watched this barn become part of beautiful celebrations. This farm has been forever changed. 🤍
We’re especially thankful for our families, who have worked beside us, encouraged us, and supported this dream every step of the way. We truly couldn’t have done it without them!
Smith Acres is more than a venue. It is our family’s story, our legacy, and a dream Shelley and I are proud to share. 🖤
