💥Sand Hollow/Sand Mountain are under attack! 💥
Tuesday March 21, 2023 at 5pm at the St. George Library is the FINAL scoping meeting regarding the future of the West Rim Area Trails, including West Rim Lite, West Rim, Super Smash Brothers, Mind Threat, John's Trail, Sliplock Gulch, Renegade, and Faulty Towers, as well as the dispersed camping allowed off the Long Valley exit on Hwy 7.
The issue: A land developer wants to do a land swap with his land near the water tank on Warner Valley Road with the BLM for the West Rim/Long Valley area. This is the SAME DEVELOPER that went after the front of Sand Mountain 6 years ago and tried to get Razzle Dazzle/ Deklined and the test track on the east side. This is the same guy building the DH Horton Subdivision. He wants to develop this land into lake front property and an RV Park. He wants to take our trails to accomplish his end goal. It will put houses where there are no houses. It will create a noise issue with residents that do not like OHV use. It will be the beginning of CLOSING OUR ACCESS TO OUR PUBILC OHV TRAILS.

The Vendor Show is open at Trail Hero and we found free lemonade Slushies at GenRight Off Road booth! They are delicious!

On July 4, 2020, Hero for a Day took a group of Veterans, Special Needs, and volunteers on West Rim trail on Sand Mountain to view the fireworks at a safe and comfortable distance. This is especially important for our vetrans with issue to loud booms and flashes. This is our Second Annual Independence Day event, and we were excited to see 33 vehicles from UTVs to Rock Crawlers participate! Thank you all who came!

The trails are not for trashing!!!! Sand Mountain is not the dump!!! Pack your Trash OUT! If you see trash on the trail, pick it up and pack it out. Be a good human.

FYI - HWY 7 from the cattle guard at 3000 all the way to Sand Hollow Road starting 4/27/20 will be closed for road construction. This includes access to the green gate/ pink gate. They are widening HWY 7.

The Father-Son race team of GenRight Off Road's Tony Pellegrino and Jordan Pellegrino are ready to tackle the 2020 Nitto King of the Hammers powered by Optima Batteries. Going up head-to-head in the same class will be an interesting adventure for the 212-mile race. Both racers are racing in the Unlimited 4400 Class, but Tony is racing his favorite Jeep Wrangler JKU the Terremoto, and Jordan is racing the Full Independent Suspension Triton Engineering Chassis called the Unicorn. These guys support us for Trail Hero, so lets support them at KOH!
