Tri for Ole Glory

Tri for Ole Glory This page is for The Tri for Ole Glory off-road sprint triathlon on Saturday, July 4th in Huntsville, Alabama. Team Rocket Tri Club has partnered with the U.S.

Space and Rocket Center to produce a reverse order Off Road Triathlon to showcase the property surrounding the USSRC and The Huntsville Botanical Garden. Huntsville's growing need for a family friendly mountain bike/running trail located near UAH and close to town, makes this a perfect venue. This annual event will provide charitable funds for the U.S. Space and Rocket Center Space Camp Scholarshi

p Fund. As a reverse order Sprint Distance Triathlon, this fun race begins with a 3.1 mile run that is on a mix of dirt, gravel and pavement surfaces. Racers will transition to an 8 mile mountain bike course that slips through a wide variety of hardwoods, cedar and pine groves. You will get to see numerous airplanes, rockets and space equipment as you wind though a course that looks flat but will fool you with climbs and twists, creek crossings and jumps. Finally racers will be able to cool off with a 200 meter swim in the Aviation Challege swim area. Never deeper than 4 feet, tired swimmers have the ability to stand up and catch their breath if needed. This swim venue is considered beginner friendly. Awards will follow the race in the shade of the covered pavilion, affectionally known as the Bubble at the USSRC.
