Rocket City Weather Fest RCWF 2026 is on February 7th, 2026 from 10am to 3pm! A free weather festival open to the public at the UAH Shelby Center and SWIRLL!

Hosted by the AMS/NWA Student Chapter at UAH and sponsored by Baron Weather. ATTENTION KIDS AND ADULTS OF ALL AGES! Are you fascinated by the weather? Do you want to become a meteorologist? Are you curious about how our atmosphere works? If so, then Rocket City Weather Fest is where you want to be! ational Weather Association (UAH AMS/NWA) hosts Rocket City Weather Fest, a free admission Weather Festival for the entire North Alabama area. This event gives the atmospheric and related sciences community an opportunity to educate the public on weather-related phenomena, emphasizing on safety and preparedness, and to showcase scientific research taking place here in Huntsville, AL. From hands-on activities and demonstrations, kids’ games and crafts to a SKYWARN Spotter training course given by the National Weather Service and other informative seminars, this fun-filled event will be perfect for the entire family! We are just a couple hours away from Rocket City Weather Fest 2026!

Be sure to check out our first speaker event on the schedule today, our student research lightning talks! Come see our student researchers Joshua Chapin, Ethan Ebbert, Kyra Britton, and Tana Gobble speak on their research projects today at 10:15am in SST Room 109!

We are officially less than 24 hours away from Rocket City Weather Fest 2026 ☀️🌩️🌪️😁!

Be sure to check out our weather facilities (including research vehicles) during a SWIRLL tour, provided by our amazing Atmospheric and Earth Science Department Student Ambassadors!

Transportation to and from SWIRLL will be available via ongoing shuttles, but guests are also welcome to drive and park at SWIRLL.
