Formerly know as the Surf City Beach Derby, the Surf City 10, offers the best of Southern California, fast, cool, beautiful courses, with great entertainment and award winning surfboard medals. We do however, reserve the right to remove posts that use profanity, are offensive, or attack-full towards any particular person, and block those that seem committed to perpetuating that course of action.

Did you see Spiderman out on course this year?? We hope you’re dressing up today, and we can’t wait to see what you might come up with when you’re out on the Surf City 10 course next year. Costumed runners always bring an extra dose of fun to race day. While Surf 10 doesn't pull a lot of costumed runners into the mix, we love seeing the occasional “How the ?7!$ # are they running in that?!” costume.

We’re pretty lucky to call this our race-day backdrop. 🌊

With the start and finish line in the heart of Huntington Beach and the iconic pier stretching out toward the Pacific, it’s hard to imagine a more fitting setting for Surf City 10. Ocean views, salty air, palm trees, and miles along PCH. Just another reason we love bringing this running community together in Surf City. Who’s ready to run it back in 2027?

That post-finish-line feeling. 😮‍💨

The burning lungs. The tired legs. The moment your body is telling you it’s had enough, but you made it to the finish anyway. Because sometimes getting to that finish line takes a little grit, a little discomfort, and everything you’ve got left in the tank.

And then you get to stop, catch your breath, and realize: you did it. And that feeling is worth every mile!

Who’s planning to take on the 10 Miler at Surf City 10 in 2027? 👀

Fun fact: Surf City 10 is the oldest 10-mile race in the U.S. and the oldest road race in Orange County, and next year, we’ll be celebrating the 71st edition of this storied race. We can’t wait to welcome back our returning runners, meet a whole new crew of runners, and keep building on the legacy of Surf City 10.

We couldn’t have asked for better race-day weather this year. 🌴🌥️

Overcast skies, temps in the 60s and 70s, and a cool breeze to keep our runners comfortable along the course. A little less sunburn, a lot of beachside miles, and 10,000 runners showing up to make it a day to remember!
