❤️ FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART… THANK YOU! ❤️
There are moments in life when words just don’t seem big enough to express what’s in your heart. This is one of those moments.
I want to express my deepest, most sincere gratitude to Dan & Crystal , the Fisherman’s Shack of Hudson, and EVERYONE who helped make my cancer benefit such an incredible outpouring of love and generosity.
I’ve spent so many Sundays at the Shack, singing my heart out, sharing music, laughter, friendships, and making memories. Over the years, this place has become so much more than a venue to me. It’s become FAMILY. ❤️
And when life threw me one of the biggest challenges I’ve ever faced, that family showed up for me in ways I could never have imagined.
The benefit was overwhelming. The love, the hugs, the kind words, the generosity, the musicians who donated their time and talents, the people who worked behind the scenes, and every single person who came out to support me—I felt every bit of it. I am truly humbled.
But there’s something else I want everyone to know.
Dan and the Fisherman’s Shack have given me a gift that has literally changed my life.
My beautiful new-to-me camper. My little CASTLE! 🏰❤️
Some of you may not realize just how much this means to me.
My previous living conditions had become extremely difficult, and with breast cancer treatments and surgery ahead of me, I was facing the frightening reality of trying to recover in an environment that simply wasn’t healthy or suitable for healing.
Now, because of this extraordinary act of kindness, I have a beautiful, CLEAN, comfortable, peaceful place to call HOME.
A place where I can rest.
A place where I can feel safe and comfortable.
A place where I can surround myself with beautiful things again—something I hadn’t been able to enjoy in a very long time.
A place where I can HEAL.
And I cannot begin to explain what that has done for my spirit.
I wake up feeling hopeful. I find myself smiling at the simplest things. I’m decorating, making plans, dreaming again, and actually looking forward to the future instead of just trying to get through another day.
That camper isn’t just a camper to me.
It’s a fresh start. It’s peace of mind. It’s hope. And it’s a reminder that there are still incredibly good people in this world.
I truly believe God puts angels in our lives, and sometimes those angels own a little honky-tonk on Old Dixie Highway. ❤️
Dan, I hope you know what you’ve done for me. You’ve given me something that money alone cannot buy. You’ve given me back a sense of home, happiness, and dignity at a time when I needed it most.
To everyone at the Fisherman’s Shack, all my musician friends, my Shack Jam family, and every wonderful soul who has reached out, donated, prayed, hugged me, or simply reminded me that I’m not walking this road alone…
THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.
I don’t know exactly what lies ahead on this cancer journey, but I know one thing for certain.
I’m going into it with a whole lot more hope, a whole lot more strength, and a heart overflowing with gratitude.
I’ve always believed music brings people together. But what I’ve experienced through this has shown me just how powerful that connection really is.
You haven’t just supported a singer.
You’ve lifted up a human being when she needed lifting the most.
And I will never, ever forget it.
With all my love and gratitude,
Wendy Rich ❤️
