The Tarpon Triathlon began in 2009 as a fundraiser for the Bayou Black Tarpons swim team. We would like to thank everyone that participated, volunteered to help, & sponsored the race, without them this race would not have been possible! The Tarpon Tri is a sprint d
istance triathlon located in Houma, LA, specifically in the Bayou Black community. The swim is a pool swim, and the bike and run portions take place along the gentle curves of scenic Bayou Black, making for a picturesque race. There is a park at the recreation center (the site of the race) which is great for entertaining the kids as well as large shelters with picnic tables creating a great atmosphere to enjoy the post race activities and mingling with friends and family! This is a great race for any level of triathlete from beginner through more experienced triathletes of all ages. We also allow relay teams to enter the race adding to the fun and excitement of the event! So, look through the site and learn more about the race. We hope to see you there!
