I would like to take a moment to wish everyone a Happy New Year! 2017 has been a phenomenal year for the chainsaw carving business. As many milestones were met I would like to reflect on the progress that was made this year! 2017 started off strong last January with a nicely produced promo video Ryan Tribou Productions and now has over 11,000 views helping to spread the word about this business. In March I spent a weekend at the Presque Isle Fish and Game Club’s Sportsmen’s Show making many great connections. The first of April the idea of the “Ranger Crocket” with Ryan Tribou project was completed as well as an emotional presentation to The State of Maine Forest Rangers. The Southern Aroostook Trade Show was a great experience once again this year as I always enjoy trying to catch everyone at the door to tell them about the carvings and answer many questions that viewers have like “Well how long does it take you?” My tallest carving to date was completed this year standing just under six feet tall as well as my first ice carving. In May I was pleased to be able to contribute to the Professional Logging Contractors of Maine “Log and load for kids” auction with a carving that ended up being purchased by Congressmen Bruce Poliquin, and is now displayed in his Bangor office. Some other events that I was a part of with a display or demonstrations this year was the Northeast Loggers Expo at the Cross Insurance Center, the Island Falls parade and Summer Fest as well as the Northern Maine Fair. I want to say a huge thank you to all who supplied me with logs this year like JMM Servies, Rays Tree Service, Hopkins Sawmill, Katahdin Forest Products, and many other individuals. This year was a big year reaching 1000 likes on the pages as well as the 100th carving completed since the beginning. A huge thank you goes out to my friends and family for supporting me this year with this unique endeavor. I want to thank all the onsite carving customers as well as those who purchased at shows or through the page. So from all the Bears and I at Cams Chainsaw Carving, we wish you a Happy New Year!
