🐦 The Hot Springs Convention Center welcomed birders from all over the United States this past weekend for the sold out, inaugural Birding Festival of the South, October 8 - 10, presented by Oaklawn Hot Springs!

Programming included a night of live music by Melissa Carper, Sad Daddy, and a performance by viral bird caller Samuel Henderson at Bridge St. LIVE!, a bird water color workshop, field trips to the nearby Hot Springs Creek Greenway Trail and other prime birding locations, live birds of prey presented by the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission, an appearance by Phelps the African Penguin from the Little Rock Zoo, live musical performances, a vendor hall, and much more.

Thank you to all the birders who visited Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas for three great days of events and birding opportunities!

🎣 The Hot Springs Convention Center welcomed 23 nations of anglers teams to Hot Springs, Arkansas for the Black Bass Fishing World Championship last week, October 1 - 3!

Participating nations included the United States who took home gold, South Africa who took home silver, and France who took home bronze along with Australia, Canada, Colombia, Croatia, El Salvador, England, France, Guatemala, Italy, Latvia, Mexico, Namibia, the Philippines, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Serbia, Spain, South Africa, Turtle Island and Venezuela.

The Hot Springs Convention Center welcomed the Oaklawn Outdoor Expo for three days of fishing vendors, ending with a free concert by The Frontmen before the final weigh-in in Bank OZK Arena. 🇺🇸🥇 Congratulations to the USA Bass Team on taking home the gold, and to all the competing teams on an incredible championship!

Three days on the water and team USA caught a total of 45 fish weighing in at 133 lbs and 5 oz. Go team USA!

🐶 Dogs of all breeds and sizes, from golden retrievers to chihuahuas, filled the Hot Springs Convention Center September 25 - 27 for the Hot Springs National Park Kennel Club AKC Dog Show!

The show featured all-breed conformation, obedience trials, rally trials, junior showmanship, and vendor booths with pet supplies and gifts on display.

The 2026 Arkansas Association of Federal Coordinators Fall Conference was held at the Hot Springs Convention Center last week, September 16 - 18!

This years conference featured general sessions, breakout sessions, networking opportunities, and an exhibit hall. Special guest speakers included Dr. Stephen Sroka, Darren Grissom the Director of State Offices for Solution Tree, Dave Deschryver and Doug Mesecar speaking on federal education information, and a performance by the Searcy High School Choir.
